Our coordinator Frauke Liers gave an interview about gender equality in MINOA (in German). The interview can be found in the "Marie Kurier", the newsletter of the MSCActions.
The predecessor of the MINOA project was MINO. And one of the MINO fellows, Jonas Schweiger, received the Dissertation Award 2018 from the German Operations Research Society GOR for dissertation "Exploiting structure in non-convex quadratic optimization and gas network planning under uncertainty"! Congratulations!
The press release for our recruitment is out. You can find it under the following link: idw-online.de/en/news693328.
As a MINOA action, Prof. Dr. Monique Laurent from CWI (National Research Institute for Mathematics and Computer Science, Netherlands) organizes a workshop on applications of semidefinite optimization on the 5th of April. You can find more information under this link. The workshop will take place at the CWI in Amsterdam.
On the 27th and the 28th of February, our Kickoff took place in Nuremberg.
Building upon the achievements of the Marie-Curie ITN Mixed-Integer Non-Linear Optimization (MINO) (2012 – 2016), the goal of the Mixed-Integer Non-Linear Optimisation Applications (MINOA) proposal is to train the next generation of highly qualified researchers and managers in applied mathematics, operations research and computer science that are able to face
the modern imperative challenges of European and international relevance in areas such as energy, logistics, engineering, natural sciences, and data analytics.
